When designing the library and teaching spaces planned for the Budapest branch of the Hungarian National Library, the goal was to create inspiring, modern knowledge and community spaces built on the strengths of an existing office environment.

Library & classrooms

The common visual element of the projects is a graphic concept inspired by hand drawings of famous patented inventions, which reflects on the world of innovation and engineering thinking.

The library, with its open reading areas, community spaces, and free-access function, has become a place for learning and research, while the two lecture halls – one for 100 and one for 30 people – provide a modern educational environment with a communal foyer and flexible usability.
